The President’s Suite
This spacious room on the 2nd floor was the original master bedroom of the house. However, there was a time when William Spencer’s uncle inhabited this room. He was a Civil War veteran, and due to a war injury, could not be exposed to sunlight. A wardrobe was built over the bay window in the room and was not removed until 1991 when the windows were exposed again. The bathroom is also not exactly original—it was once a closet. The bath with tub and shower was built in the 1920s for Mrs. Spencer. The fixtures and tile are original. This room offers a king-size 4-poster cherry bed, non-working fireplace, seating area and a large flat-screen TV with Roku streaming device.
