Great central location to Erie points of interest. Breakfast was phenomenal, perfect portions and so tasty. Steve and Lisa were very hospitable and the history of the Spencer house was very interesting.

We stayed in Nanny’s room. Steve and Lisa do a great job of communicating and putting out a great product. The intricate wood details of the house speak for themselves. Such a great house.

Had a great time at Spencer Bed and Breakfast! Steve and Lisa were so welcoming during our stay. It was wonderful to learn about the history of the house and see the beautiful architecture in real life! Our breakfast in the morning was delicious as well! Definitely would come stay again when we’re looking for a getaway!

Classic B & B with Inviting, Personal Touch Steve was very helpful in giving the history & personality of this classic B & B . They clearly have worked hard to keep this place historically accurate as well as comfortable. Both hosts were gracious. Breakfast was good & hearty. Enjoyed the smaller nanny‘s room w/ the exposed brick hallway leading toward private bath with clawfoot tub shower. Definitely will be back!

History and Heart Steve and Lisa are excellent hosts caring for a fantastic house. Great architecture and details coupled with wonderful food and service. We stayed in the President's Room and enjoyed the extra space. The house is located in the heart of Erie with easy access to anything you might want in the area.

We visited Erie for the first time and thankfully chose the Spencer House for accommodations. Steve and Lisa were incredible hosts sharing their very beautiful and immaculately kept home; as well as providing a delicious breakfast cooked by Lisa with Steve attending to every detail. If you are visiting Erie I highly recommend giving the Spencer House B&B a look.

This B&B is an excellent choice for your next overnight visit to Erie, PA. My wife and I stayed here for three nights in September, 2025. Steve and Lisa are warm and friendly hosts who have devoted their lives to this home and each guest who visits. The entire Inn is very clean, quiet, and all amenities are offered as if you were in your own home. The location is very close to all places of interest and there are many choices for local fare. A family reunion We had a wonderful stay at Spencer House B and B. The inn is located on the most beautiful street in Erie. Spencer House is a fully restored Victorian mansion with all of the modern amenities you could want. The inn is clean and quiet. The service is perfect. Breakfast is varied and requests are accommodated. The innkeepers have a wealth of information about the area. Erie is a great place to visit, meet family or friends and enjoy history and the outdoors.

Still my favorite B&B! I specifically planned to head through Erie to have another excellent stay at the Spencer House. I cannot recommend Steve and Lisa's wonderful B&B enough! Firstly, Steve kindly stayed reached out to me when I was able to get off the wait-list for a room, and he was again able to securely store some gear off my car overnight. I was able to stay in the same, comfortably air-conditioned room and was delighted to find the same local chocolate bar with other toiletries. Breakfast (apple French toast with taters) was just as delicious as last year, and so many other guests were also repeat travelers who loved the Spencer House.

The Spencer House was fabulous! Steve and Lisa do an amazing job. Great home cooked breakfast, quiet rooms and private bathrooms. We will definitely be staying there next year!

The Spencer House is a lovely Bed and Breakfast. This year is our 3rd year in a row that we have stayed here for Gannon University's Parent's Weekend. It is absolutely perfect due to its location and the overall charm of this gorgeous old mansion. Steve and Lisa are exceptional hosts. They are starting to feel like family now. The cleanliness of the home, the landscaping, and the delicious made to order breakfast every morning is something that we truly appreciate. Stay here instead of the hotels, you will not regret your choice.

My wife Amy and I traveled to Erie in Sept. 2025 so that I could run the Erie Marathon on Presque Isle. From the beginning, Steve and Lisa were very attentive hosts. They are particularly good communicators; before our arrival, they sent us a very helpful guide to the house and things to do in Erie. The house is a lovely Victorian not far from downtown Erie and the beautiful waterfront. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and nicely decorated (we stayed in the Nanny's room). We got nice recommendations for dinner for Friday night (Pineapple Eddie's) and for my carbo-loading dinner on Saturday (Coala's). There's also a very nice bakery (Herb & Honey) right around the corner. The included breakfast was very good, although I left too early on Sunday to enjoy it a second time. A late check-out is available (which I needed after the race), but there is a $40 charge. If you are visiting the Erie area, definitely consider staying here.

An absolutely wonderful experience. Gorgeous house, excellently maintained by the innkeepers which really blew us away. The amenities were fantastic and the decor was breathtaking. The service was also top notch, with an amazing breakfast every morning. Cannot recommend The Spencer House Enough.

The historic property is beautifully maintained and carefully decorated with many lovely touches and antiques. Our room (Spencer's room) on the 3rd floor was large, clean, comfortable and quiet. We were able to store our bicycles in the garage and enjoyed a bike ride around Presque Isle. The location is great - quiet neighborhood and close to everything. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed talking to our fellow guests. (You know you're staying in a great place when your fellow guests are repeat visitors.) We also purchased the sunset sailing package "Your Sailing Adventure" at a discount with our reservation. Highly recommend the sailing experience with Captain Scott and crew members Jeannine and Stephanie. All in all, a wonderful time and we would be happy to return.

This was our 4th time staying, and it was wonderful just like each time before! Steve and Lisa are friendly and attentive, breakfast is amazing and very filling, and the rooms are so comfortable. We appreciate the complementary bottled water on each floor as we spend much of our visit outside in the heat at Presque Isle and downtown at Celebrate Erie! You will not regret staying here!

Ever see pics of an old mansion and wistfully wonder what it would be like to walk the staircase, sit in the furniture, and peruse the library? The Spencer House is a beautifully maintained historic mansion giving just such an opportunity. My wife & I went here for an anniversary trip and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great ambiance, excellent food, beautiful decorations, and really nice hosts. 5 out of 5 stars.

Great experience in lovely setting We stayed there 3 nights in July. Our hosts were very friendly, and they have maintained and decorated the house beautifully. There is a lovely front porch to sit on and relax. Traffic on the street is minimal. Breakfast was a little different every day and was delicious (they have two seatings - 8 am or 9 am). Consisted of fruit first course followed by pancakes or waffles, eggs, fried potatoes, and ham or bacon or sausage. Our room was very spacious and comfortable including a sitting area with sofa, and the bathroom was clean. This room has separate sink in the bedroom and the shower and toilet in the bathroom. The only (minor) negative was the air conditioner unit which was a bit noisy whenever it cycled on. We would stay there again and recommend to others.

We have stayed at the Spencer House a few times and it is always a pleasurable experience. The hosts are kind and helpful, and the breakfast is delicious and generous. The atmosphere in the home is beautiful, feel like a princess staying there. A beautifully restored and well kept mansion with amazing gardens, fresh flowers, etc. Highly recommend!

Steve and Lisa are wonderful, attentive hosts, and their B&B is beautiful. The full breakfasts were the best of homecooked meals. The location is great - easy to get to museums, the minor league ballpark, and Presque Isle State Park. We would definitely stay there again!
