This was a first for my daughter and me. Never did a bed and breakfast before. It was a delightful experience and the lady of the house cooked delicious and well proportioned meals.
The man of the house was very attentive and accommodating….
The dog was lovely just met her once and she was so sweet…
Pretty much after breakfast had the day to do as one pleases…close to the Bayfront…

Spectacular Victorian home accommodations,-wonderful owner/hosts Lisa and Steve are wonderful hosts and owners -so extraordinarily hard-working and willing to accommodate ! They designed a beautiful vineyard -dinner--winery tour with a gorgeous view of Lake Erie during a spectacular eclipse event in Erie PA ! Something we will never ever forget. We are so grateful!

A great place to stay in Erie! We were visiting to go to a show at the Warner Theatre. The house had this amazing balance of authenticity for an old house and very clean / not dated. They had lots of extra cute details and the breakfast was so yummy! Definitely better than a hotel and great area to walk around and explore Erie. Will Definity stay there again when we're in the area.

This was me and my husband's first time at a Bed & Breakfast, and Spencer House set the bar super high! We LOVED staying here! Steve and Lisa the innkeepers were so kind, warm, and welcoming. The house is gorgeous, especially if you love historical places, and so inviting. We stayed in the Captain's Quarters which had its own updated bathroom, Jacuzzi tub, and comfy King size bed. The room was very quiet, comfortable, and clean. We can't say enough about the thoughtful details down to heart-shaped waffles at breakfast for us because we were celebrating our anniversary. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, be sure to book the Pampered Romance experience which includes massages at a local masseuse, chocolate covered strawberries and rose petals on the bed. My husband and I were greatly impressed by this stunning home. Aside from its obvious beauty, the entire home is well kept and polished. The owners take every opportunity to ensure guests are made to feel welcomed, happy, comfortable and at home. The breakfasts are delicious, and you will not walk away from the table hungry. We highly recommend The Spencer House to anyone wanting a fabulous place to stay!

Forget Hotel Chains, Support Local Inns!!! This was the perfect midway point for our spring break drive in the midwest. It's historic and beautiful, the beds were comfortable- clean- and an absolute dream! Service was amazing! Steve was out planting flowers when we arrived and met us at the door. Safe neighborhood, off the street parking. They had tea and hot coco along with some cold soda for us. The complimentary local chocolate? Delicious! Lots of local reccomended spots for things to do. Unfortunately we could only stay the one night in Erie but it was one I wont forget. Each room has a book to write in and to read from other travelers, they obviously offer breakfast and because of our early departure for our trip we had to miss it. I regret it abit because the dinning room is cozy and comfortable and the food looked so good from other reviews! Its goregous and for the cost of a local hotel you could get a five star experience and some history!

We had a very nice stay at Spencer House. I would stay again just for the breakfast experience alone! The rooms were cozy and quiet and we just felt comfortable, like in our own home. We visited a couple breweries close by and braved the cold and walked at the shore.

First time at a BB I was a little nervous because I had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before but this place was so beautiful. The hosts were very nice and very accommodating. Breakfast was amazing as well. Even the bed was super comfy. I would return if we were ever to stay in Erie again.

The rooms were beautiful, in a wonderful location. Service was amazing, we forgot to mention I was gluten intolerant in the reservation, and even though they ask for advanced notice the innkeepers were more than accommodating and made a gluten free breakfast for me. We can't wait to be back in the area to book again!

A wonderful christmas time We love staying here when we are visiting Erie. The hosts are super nice and friendly, the rooms are all individually named with their own bit of history that the hosts will tell you about. They are all very clean and tidy. At Christmas there are so many wonderful decorations with each room having its own theme. Breakfast is amazing! You could go the whole day on one of the breakfasts. Highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful Historic Mansion The Spencer House is a journey back in time. Beautifully appointed accommodations and the historic nature of the venue is wonderful. The breakfast service is delicious and the atmosphere is quite a gracious way to begin your day.

Check-in was easy and I appreciated the tour and history of the home. My room was perfect for my overnight stay by myself. I had planned to go out for dinner but ended up spending the evening in my room enjoying the peace and quiet (rare as a teacher and mother of three)! I was able to step out early in the morning for a run of the neighborhood. Breakfast was delicious and I enjoyed the earlier time by myself. Steve and Lisa were easy to talk to and I appreciated their insight and recommendations for spending time in the area.

Victorian charm at its best! The Spencer House is an amazing and charming place to stay in downtown Erie. The hosts are very warm, welcoming and gracious. They serve a most delicious breakfast spread and can adjust to dietary needs. Highly recommended stay!

Our room, the Nursery is spacious with lots of windows, the bed was very comfortable, and there is a private bath.
We came to this area to go bird watching in Presque Isle State Park, the birds were all there and this Bed and Breakfast just topped this mini vacation off! Oh and don't miss the Maritime Museum on the water-front, a real gem with very friendly folks who are a wealth of information.

What an absolutely delightful and charming B&B! The home itself is just gorgeous with original wood throughout, actually, most everything in the home is original and so well taken care of. The wrap-around porch is so relaxing. I stayed in the Nursery room as it was the only one available. It had two big beds and like all the rooms it had a private bath, mine with the original clawfoot tub. The bed was so comfy, you won't want to get out of it. I loved everything about this place. The owners were so welcoming and friendly. Do not skip the amazing breakfast. There's nothing like a home-cooked hot breakfast to start the day and your only disappointment might be that you can't finish it all ... I didn't have that problem. I happily ate every single bite and left stuffed both mornings I was there. Highly, highly recommend! I will be staying there whenever I need to visit Erie for work.

Just spent 3 days at Spencer House, check in was easy, Steve was there to greet us and give us a brief history of this beautiful home. The positives were excellent breakfasts prepared by his wife Lisa, the home is beautiful. We stayed in The President Suite, bed was very comfortable, nice sitting area but the bathroom is antiquated and there is what looks like mold around the tub tile, the toilet is very close to the floor… noise also carries, we could easily here people walking above us and the room downstairs where guests can congregate was very loud one night, but they do have a house rule of quiet after 10:00pm. With all that being said I would recommend this beautiful piece of history, just don’t expect updated features!
